Laurence brings more than 20 years of experience as a media pro to the Cogenta team, including several years as a reporter with The Associated Press in Seattle and as an environmental reporter in Oregon. A UK transplant who also has roots in Latin America, he moved to Los Angeles in 2005, drawn by the city’s creative community. He has written several screenplays and spent the pandemic writing his first novel. He brings these storytelling muscles to film, tech and business PR writing. His clients have ranged from the large (Cisco, Intuit, Waggener Edstrom) to small agencies and startups.  He’s also a video field producer, avid mountain biker and painter of banana-leaf murals. He lives with his wife, Patty, and their two cats, Tomo and Quinn, and has a B.A. in English from Oxford and an M.A. in Communications from Washington State University.
